Silver Threads

After the recent throws, all made with multiple colors of Knit Picks' Brava worsted-weight acrylic, I had a whole pile of Brava leftovers. The octagon was a geometry experiment, and used a bit of the leftovers. Used some more to see if I could make an 8-pointed star. I could!

But then what does one do with an 8-pointed star? The answer seems to be, fill in the points to make a bigger octagon (about 25 inches across), make a second one, and then make a big pillow.

Now I'm knitting a strip to connect the top and bottom pieces. This will definitely use up the Brava, and need more, so have already pulled out some more leftover yarn of the same weight. After the top was complete I knew the thing would become very random. But that's okay. It will be a functional pillow.
